Removing and Loosening the Threaded Flange

The most common issue encountered when removing the adapter from the receiver is failure to loosen or remove the Side Set Screw before attempting to loosen the Threaded Flange (part #5 on instructions below). Be sure to loosen or remove the side set screw (part #7), before attempting to loosen the flange (part # 5). If not removed it will be almost impossible to remove. Needle nose pliers can act as a simple tool to remove the flange (part # 5). 

You can also spray penetrating oil into the side set screw hole (after the side set screw is removed). This allows the oil to get directly to the threads of the flange.
